Pelusa Saga: Kaji's Trials (NES)

Take on the role of Kaji and save the Pelusa! In the land of Lobo, there lives a race of humanoid foxes known as the Pelusa. When a dark evil known as the Guardians rises in Lobo, a young Pelusa named Kaji must take up his blade and thwart them. Select from over 200 quests, each with unique map layouts, item locations, and enemy spawns.

Story

In the land of Lobo, there lives a race of humanoid foxes known as the Pelusa. When a Pelusa reaches the age of 13, they are required to take part in a rite of passage known as the Hunt. To complete the Hunt, they must seek out the Four Sacred Treasures of the Pelusa: a Wand of Flame, a Wand of Ice, a Holy Torch, and the Bow of Hunters. Before commencing the Hunt, the Pelusa Elder scatters the treasures throughout a verdant forest, an island delta, a mountain range, and an ancient castle. Having  enjoyed peace for centuries, the Four Sacred Treasures had been considered mere relics of an ancient era when war ravaged the land, but when a portal to the sealed Dark Realm is opened during the Hunt of a young Pelusa pup named Kaji, hordes of hideous of monsters begin to infest the Light Realm.

Kaji’s Hunt was no longer a mere test to seek out the Sacred Treasures - to defeat the three Guardians dwelling in the Dark Realm and seal it off once and for all, he must travel between the Light and Dark Realms to seek out the treasures and learn to harness their hidden magic. The fate of Lobo and all of the Pelusa who live there is in Kaji’s hands.
